creating a stamp

A short breakout, hands on process.

Whilst reading a lot, whilst my thoughts are going in circles, I need a short break.

So i put on my apron, and created a little stamp. It was just an easy exercise in a short time, but anyways, maybe I want to create a bigger stamp later, so this handmade try might help.

I am cutting soft rubber, and glued it on a piece of wood later. The tools are for linocut, what seems to be quite similar. The difficulty was the straight lines in the typo. And since I was short in time, I like the imperfect look of the outcome. One can easily see it's handmade, because i purposely left all the marks and flaws in it. 'what if the old may be new again?' What if....
